Robin is a South African with 15 years of treasury and banking experience gained in both Africa and the UK.
Having taken his degree at the University of the Witwatersrand, Robin joined Finansbank in 1990 as a foreign exchange dealer, moving to Nedbank as a corporate dealer in 1992. In 1995 Robin moved into the corporate division as a senior relationship manager.
In 1999 Robin joined Barclays Bank in South Africa as an associate director, managing a portfolio of clients throughout Africa. In 2001, he joined Barclay’s London team as relationship director working with the multi-national corporate team, developing business relationships both in Africa, Europe and the US.
In 2003, Robin joined HSBC and was appointed in 2004 as the bank’s head of corporate and institutional banking and commercial banking for sub-Saharan Africa, planning, communicating and implementing the bank’s strategy in the region.
Robin brings a deep-rooted customer service ethic, an understanding of customer requirements and over a decade’s experience of managing teams across multiple markets and countries.
