Doha, March 10, 2010 : As the region's 'next generation bank', al khaliji is looking to increase the bank's recruitment of Qatar's new generation university and high school graduates at the 3rd Qatar Career Fair 2010 at the Doha Exhibition Centre from 14 to 18 March.
Committed to recruit, train and retain talented graduates in all local communities in which it operates, al khaliji aims to meet both Qatar's human development vision and the bank's own human resource objectives at the 3-day Qatar Career Fair, jointly organized by Qatar Foundation, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar University and The Ministry of Labor.
"Through our Qatarization strategy, which is in line with the government's Qatariization strategy, al khaliji is keen to recruit fresh graduates into the workforce and offer them an opportunity to grow their careers with al khaliji," says Head of Qatarization Mohamed Al Kuwari.
al khaliji has embarked on a number of initiatives to meet its ambitious nationalization targets. Working in partnership with the Ministry of Labor, in 2009 the bank granted three-year scholarships to 15 high school graduates as part of its commitment to invest in local talent. In 2010 al khaliji will follow on its high school graduate initiative by supporting the first five graduates to achieve their higher learning dreams.
"At al khaliji harnessing local talent and Qatarization are integral parts of our medium-term strategy. This is demonstrated through the partnership between al khaliji and the Ministry of Labor, and the bank’s new Professional Development Programme for recent Qatari graduates," added Al Kuwari.
Qatar Career Fair 2010 will also witness the launch of al khaliji Professional Development Program (PDP), an innovative 9-month program to recruit a group of 18 Qatari university and high school graduates and undergraduates seeking a career with Qatar's 'next generation bank'.
al khaliji PDP encourages male, female and disabled graduates to start their banking career with an intensive 9-month program designed to match the recruit to a career position within the bank.
Supported with a personal development plan and ongoing coaching, al khaliji PDP consists of a three-month training in banking essentials, critical business skills and understanding al khaliji, followed by a maximum six-month placement in a pre-determined area of the business to gain experience of the recruit's new role.
"al khaliji PDP is the first of its kind in the banking sector that will truly help Qatari talent achieve long-term job stability in the workplace, proper career planning and development opportunities. At the same time, al khaliji PDP supports the bank's long-term strategy of fostering an environment where people love to work," says al khaliji Recruitment Manager Khalefa Al-Mesalam.
